That’s the brief we took on for the Port of Brisbane Expansion — and why we’re proud to have completed the first three-level supercontainer building for that project.
This isn’t a concept drawing. What was built: a three-level supercontainer for a working port
On our commercial project page we announce the completion of the first three-level supercontainer building at the Port of Brisbane’s major expansion. In plain terms: a stacked, modular shipping-container structure built for port and industrial use — not a single-level site office parked on the hardstand.
Multi-level container construction is a different game to a standard 20ft or 40ft fit-out. You’re designing for stacking loads, safe access between levels, weather, and the day-to-day realities of an active port precinct. The “supercontainer” approach uses the inherent strength of shipping containers — the same structures built to survive ocean voyages and stacking on ships — and turns them into a proper commercial building.
From the gallery on the project page you’ll see the finished exterior: clean modular façades, large commercial windows, external steel stairs and walkways, and the kind of industrial detailing (bollards, non-slip treads, gutters and downpipes) that belongs on a real worksite. It’s modular — but it reads as infrastructure, not a temporary donga.

Why it matters for commercial and port work
Ports don’t wait for slow builds. Space is tight, program is tight, and anything that arrives damaged or non-compliant becomes someone else’s problem on an already busy site.
A three-level supercontainer answers a few hard commercial questions at once:
- Vertical capacity on limited footprint — stacking levels gets more usable space without eating the hardstand.
- Structural credibility — container frames are engineered for stacking and transport; that backbone suits multi-level commercial use when it’s designed and certified properly.
- Delivery without flat-pack chaos — when modules are built properly in a factory, they arrive as complete units ready to install, not a puzzle of panels and missing parts.
- Compliance that holds up to scrutiny — port and industrial clients expect full regulatory compliance, not “near enough” finishes that fail inspection.
