When a port client wants a headquarters that actually looks the part — not a temporary site office — the build has to work hard. Multi-level. Compliant for Queensland. Finished properly. And it has to land on a working port without dragging on for years.
That’s the brief behind the SEQH headquarters at the Port of Brisbane — the Container Pilgrim project we’ve walked through on camera. It’s a showpiece for the client, referred to us by past clients, and it’s the kind of commercial container building we design, manufacture and install end to end from our factory at 39 Habib Drive, South Lismore.

A multi-level HQ built around containers
The building is set up with shipping containers either side and a steel mezzanine tying the levels together. Up top there’s a rooftop viewing area — the kind of deck that makes sense on a port site when you want eyes on the water and the operation.
The top deck is sealed with cement sheeting, tiled, and finished with balustrading. Between the container wings, the conventional portion is clad in cement sheet with expansion joints and feature walls, so the whole thing reads as one proper headquarters, not a stack of boxes.
Fit-out for the people who work there
Inside, the finishes are stainless and the build is Queensland-compliant. There’s capacity for around 40 workers, a boardroom, and the practical spaces a port HQ needs day to day.
We also built a drivers’ crib from two 20-foot containers — kitchenette included — with a view out to the port. That’s the sort of detail that matters when the people using the building are on the ground every shift.
Designed, built, installed — and the concrete too
Container Build Group designed the containers, built them, installed them, and did all the concrete on this job. One Australian manufacturer owning the path from design through to install is how we keep quality and compliance under one roof — not a flat-pack import assembled on the hardstand.
We’ve been doing this for 20 years. Our project videos have racked up millions of views because people can see the real builds, not just renders.
Timeline and cost that made sense for the client
The client wanted a showpiece. Other quotes they were looking at were talking two years or more. We delivered this headquarters in about three months — and the price was way less than those longer programs.
That’s the practical difference of factory-built Australian container construction: parallel fabrication, controlled quality, and an install that doesn’t turn into a multi-year site circus.
