The Lindendale sits in Lindendale, a few minutes out of Lismore in the Northern Rivers. It's a family home built from fourteen 20ft shipping containers, finished with top-end fittings against the bold, industrial look of the steel. Our clients designed it themselves, and they knew exactly what they wanted: plenty of space and an industrial feel that carries right through the house.

Building the Lindendale in our South Lismore factory
Every container was fitted out in our factory in South Lismore, just down the road from the site. Doing the work under cover kept the build moving whatever the weather, and it meant the containers left the factory finished. From start to finish the Lindendale took less than 10 weeks.

Because the work was done before the trucks left, the on-site part was quick. All fourteen containers were delivered to Lindendale and craned into place within five hours.
A client-designed container home
The layout and look came from our clients. Grouping fourteen 20ft containers gave them a much bigger home than a single box suggests, and the industrial finish was their choice. Container homes don't have to look industrial, though. The same approach works for sleek, modern or fully lined homes like our Hinterland Luxury Home, which you'd never pick as containers.
